The nomination of an Authorised Representative is always formalized by a Mandate, signed by the representative, and the representee.
The Portuguese Authorities requires the Mandate to be written in Portuguese with both signatures certified, having the represented signature the Hague apostille validation.
Since July 2021, the Portuguese authorities have required that all documents proving the formalities for attributing signatures be written in Portuguese. As an exception, documents and certificates of notarial recognition in English are also accepted.
A certified translation is now required if the aforementioned notarization documents are written in other languages. As far as the Hague Apostille is concerned, it may be written in the official language of the authority. that issues it.
